Fernie Lodge
This owner-operated lodge is unique and a delight for all its worldwide guests. We are passionate and dedicated to providing the ideal mountain adventure retreat with an environmental approach offering a healthy, relaxing time while assisting with local knowledge. We also offer incredible chef prepared meals.
Features
The lodge is a classic Canadian style, it is split into 2 levels - the ground floor level being available to groups of up to 6 guests as their own private accommodation with the owners occupying the first floor. Groups of 6 or more can have the full lodge as a B&B with optional catering. It backs onto a natural wilderness habitat and the Elk River. Nature and wildlife are a part of the scenery here. In the summer a bike wash station, bike storeage & locks are available & plenty of parking for boats & winter parking for sled trailers. Stunning views from the back of the lodge & hot tub capture the Lizard Range and surrounding mountains, ski runs, marshland, sunrise & sunset.
Rooms - 2 options
OPTION 1: The separated ground floor offers 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a spacious boot/bike room with a boot dryer and a communal living/dining/kitchenette area. Bedrooms are 1 queen room & 2 rooms with 2 twin beds. We do prefer to host just 6 guests in the 3 rooms, it is ideal for families & groups. Beds are very comfortable, linens are all quality cotton, down duvets, plenty of pillows, soft cotton hand and bath towels. Guests can opt for a cooked breakfast.
OPTION 2: Requires a minimum number of 6 guests, private or shared groups & guests have use of the FULL LODGE; offering 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a spacious living room with comfortable couches around a huge log fireplace & a special log harvest dining table. Including in this option are daily cooked breakfasts, fresh baked afternoon snacks and some evenings in to enjoy a 3 course, hand crafted, delicious evening meal.
Communal Areas
Option 1: The characteristic log house offers the ground level only as self catered, private accommodation, for up to 6 guests. It has a communal kitchenette with a dining table, love seat, 2 chairs, coffee table, kitchen sink, microwave, counter top convection oven/toaster, kettle, coffee machine, flat top, smoothie blender, utensils. There is an outdoor BBQ with burner. You can opt to be served a heathy, hearty, breakfast before heading out on your adventure. This will be served in your communal dining area. A selection of games, books, weights, foam rollers, stretching elastics are available.
Option 2: Offers the full lodge with a spacious living room, log fireplace, harvest dining table, warm and welcoming atmosphere, totally unique vacation with amazing breakfasts and evening dinners.
Both options have use of the outdoor HOT TUB. From the moment guests arrive they’ll feel at home in this unique, characteristic adventure lodge.
Hot Tub & Massages
The hot tub faces the winter ski runs, bowls and dramatic cliff bands. A spectacular place to relax, admiring the terrain conquered that day & watch the groomers preparing the runs for the next day. Facing a natural wilderness & mountains offering dramatic scenery, guests can feel close to nature & wildlife.
We can arrange for a registered massage therapist specializing in sports therapy, reiki and other treatments to come to the lodge or even pamper yourself with a pedicure.
Location
Canadian Powder Tours lodge is located within walking distance to town along the Elk River and a 5 minute drive to the Fernie Ski Resort. There is a shuttle service that drops off at the lodge every half hour from the resort. Mountain bike trails can be accessed in every direction straight from the lodge.
